Romney and McCain wasting no time RE Falwell

Romney on Falwell
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Former Gov. Mitt Romney issued the following statement on the death of Rev. Jerry Falwell:

"An American who built and led a movement based on strong principles and strong faith has left us. He will be greatly missed, but the legacy of his important work will continue through his many ministries where he put his faith into action.

"Ann and I have had the honor to talk and meet with Reverend Falwell and get to know him as a man of deep personal faith and commitment to helping those around him. He will be forever remembered."

McCain on Falwell
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, issues the following statement on the death of Rev. Jerry Falwell:

"I join the students, faculty, and staff of Liberty University and Americans of all faiths in mourning the loss of Reverend Jerry Falwell.

"Dr. Falwell was a man of distinguished accomplishment who devoted his life to serving his faith and country.

Maybe they should cancel the debate and have a freaking national day of mourning.
How did this charlatan get so deep inside the national consciousness??

debate this week? Another welcome haunting. I can't watch that all over again.

5. He will be forever remembered by ME as the Monster he was.
He is at the very least partially responsible for every death of a gay person since 1980, or a soldier or civilian in Iraq since 2003.

6. Umm, Senator, I'm not altogether sure that Americans of all faiths
are mourning the loss of Reverend Falwell.

I mean, I'm no spokesperson for "Americans of all faiths", but I'd be very surprised if it weren't must Fundies who are mourning.

7. Day of mourning?
Nope, I just can't stretch it out even for a second of mourning.

8. Great comment by a caller on Randi. "If you can't say anything good about the dead ...
OK, he's dead. Good!"

LOL!

9. Hey, John, what rank did Falwell achieve and what branch of the service was he in when he
'devoted his life to serving his faith and country."?

10. MSNBC is in full tilt revisionism mode. Tucker sez he never said a mean thing.
Buchanan agrees.
