I have it on good authority that Vegans are space aliens...
They originated on the fourth planet orbiting around Vega. They arrived here in the late 19th century, where they were kicked off the mother ship, as it passed by Earth, for constantly complaining about the mess hall food, which served too many meals of roast Xhetnagab for their liking and not enough Ewert.

After a few years of bio-engineering in the dense jungles of Central America, they modified their genetics to enable them to breed with the dominant indigenous mammals. This assured them of continued survival on their planet of exile.

The genetic change, however, did not extend to ending their dissatisfaction with the typical diet of the humans with which they interbred. Thus, the argument continues to this day, even though neither Xhetnagabs or Ewerts exist on their new home.

3. Those alien genes have served me well
when I've been poor since all I could afford to eat were beans, rice, and root veg. It was boring but it sustained me nicely.

Earth monkey purists would crack within a week and run, shrieking in terror, back to the cheap luncheon meats and balloon bread which would not sustain them nicely.

peppers and a tortilla, and you have a great meal.

A funny story, I think:

When I was 17, I worked one summer clearing brush with an old Mexican guy (in his 50s, but that seemed old to me). Every day, at lunch, we'd stop and build a little fire so he could heat up his lunch, made by his wife every day. I had a bologna sandwich and a bag of chips most of the time. His lunch was invariably beans, rice, peppers, and tortillas.

Here's the funny part: He didn't speak much English, and my Spanish was only good for being polite. That didn't stop him from offering to trade his lunch for mine fairly frequently. He seemed to relish those bologna sandwiches on white bread. I certainly enjoyed his lunch, too. You just never know.

Hmm...I think I must be 1/16th Vegan.

5. Food is a fantastic gap-bridger.
IMO there would be fewer wars if heads--of-state and their families broke bread more often - without any inducement to conduct business.

on the Japanese leader.

8. That's a common misconception...
promulgated by the proprietors of Vegas Casino Buffets. Vega is far bigger than Vegas, though, and much brighter, too. So, that's settled.

9. Vegans. From Vega.
Vega is the fifth brightest star in the sky. Its name comes from the Arabic for the swooping eagle. Vega is about 25 light-years from Earth. It is three times the size of the sun and 50 times as luminous. Vega is located in the constellation Lyra.

12. Well, clearly, from the color of that Vega, it's owner likes
carrots and other yellow veggies. So, maybe you're right. Either that or the Vegans from Vega are homesick and buy Vegas due to that.

14. The really funny thing is, if you had said that in all seriousness,
it still wouldn't have been the dumbest thing you've posted lately. Impressive, that.
