The CWA is determined to support T-Mobile workers trying to unionize, but the union's president warns that unless workers and unions can stop it, things will only get worse for unions in the U.S. Jesse Russell reports.

During the Communication Workers of America’s annual conference last week the union reasserted its support for T-Mobil workers who are seeking to organize. New Jersey Field Technician Joe Micali spoke at the conference even though he was concerned doing so could cost him his job:

: “I’ve had enough of working without job security, without a good pension, and without a voice.”

Micali’s concerns about the aggressive tactics used to stop unionizing at T-Mobile were echoed in the address by CWA President Larry Cohen. Cohen’s message was sobering for attendees as he said it is a dire moment in the history of organizing and worker’s rights in the United State. He said changes in strategy would be necessary for the future of the movement.

: We need to take this to heart. Understand this is a total reversal of the last 50 years and now on our watch. We can’t pretend it will get better with time. In fact, it will get worse unless we stop it by taking risks and trying new strategies.
