Computer question: I still have a dial-up connection and this morning...
when I tried to dial into the internet on my home computer I kept getting busy signals. Does anybody know what to do about this problem? Thank you.
p.s.
I checked to make sure my phone line was connected and it was and the phone was working properly and all other connections were fine on the computer.

1. Try dialing the phone number with a regular phone.

If you still get a busy signal than call your ISP (internet provided) because something is wrong with their phone system.

If you don't get a busy signal (and you get the modem sound - you know what i am talking about) at first glance it would appear the problem is with your computer.

First step in TS is to isolate the issue. That test alone should narrow it down to your system or your providers system.

3. Find out if they have alternate numbers.
I used to use Juno dial-up and was able to select a list of local numbers so that if one didn't work, it would automatically try the next one.

4. If it is at their end
See if they have alternate numbers. I have mine set to try the alternates if the primary one doesn't work. Good luck.
