I Got My Gold Coins Today!
So, I'm ready for the Beck-pocalypse to happen!

No, I didn't waste my money on that scam. Just some time on another scam. I got this flyer from my car dealership this week, with one of those "scratch off" things to show if you're a winner. And the numbers matched. What a surprise. :eyes: So, I figured, "I'll bite," and went over to the dealership today. I was going that way anyway, so it wasn't that far out of my way. Naturally, my number didn't match any of the "big" prizes, like a new car, or a flat-screen TV, or $1000 cash. What I "won" was three gold U.S. coins. Total value of probably $10. They even have President Franklin Pierce on them, to which my husband asked, "which one was Franklin Pierce"? (One of the pre-Civil War Presidents, I think.) So, in 50 years, they might be worth $100 or so. Maybe. However, if the downfall of American society that Glenn BecKKK keeps talking about actually happens, I'll have my gold coins ready!

2. You and Beck might be disappointed when his predictions come true.
Having food will probably be more important than a pile of metal if his doomsday really happens.

3. Franklin Pierce? Ugh. get rid of them.
George Bush is a descendant of Franklin Pierce through his hag of a mother, Barbara Pierce.

6. Heh, I have a bunch of late 19th century Morgan Silver Dollars
My dad found them in my great-grandmothers place after she passed away in the 70s and kept them until he gave them to me 6 years ago. they are in pretty good condition and are probably worth about $5 to $20 each. they are pure silver and are big.

9. The Morgans are 90% silver and 10% copper.
Pretty much any coin shop will give you 15-16$ for any of them just on their silver content.

7. I don't think these are real, solid gold
The Presidential coins are goldish in color, and I don't believe they're quite what you think they are. There are First Spouses coins that are genuine gold, and they sell for a heck of a lot of money.

8. The Presidential coins are worth a dollar. The First
Spouse coins are 1/2 oz gold and the US Mint sells them for $741 each. The US Mint also makes a First Spouse bronze Medal for $5.50. http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&categoryId=45501&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=20738&top_category=20738

11. Sounds like the chocolate ones might be worth more, LOL
I go by a simple rule: If you can peel the foil away, eat them!

12. I may just have to try that
I think that they'd be worth more if they were chocolate! :D I've got food, water, TP, and cat food aplenty. I can survive the coming zombie apocalypse without the gold coins.
