Washington, DC, United States (AHN) - Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) has turned over e-mail messages to prosecutors investigating whether Sen. John Ensign (R-NV), helped a former aide find lobbying work less than a year after leaving office, in violation of federal laws. The aide is the husband of Ensign's former mistress.
According to Politico,
Coburn provided the e-mail messages after receiving a letter from the Justice Department. He was a resident along with Ensign at the C Street Center, a townhouse popular among conservative members of Congress. Coburn is said to have tried intervening to end the Nevada senator's extra-marital affair with a staffer.

Coburn, a Republican from Oklahoma, shared the material in response to request for information from prosecutors. He did not receive a subpoena.
The documents include almost every piece of e-mail correspondence that mentioned Ensign over a span of several months, including news articles that discussed the two lawmakers, said an aide to Coburn.
