1. I did! I loved it! I love my birthday buddy, Sir Paul!
Dave Grohl rocked that tune, no question! I also enjoyed Elvis Costello's rendition of Penny Lane. Jack White was really good too. Can you imagine performing Paul's' music with him and the Prez sitting right in the front row? No pressure!!

I really loved how Paul used some of his time showing appreciation to show some of his own for our President. We tend to forget that what happens in America touches the rest of the world, and that their perspective isn't quite as tainted by our politics.

I realized very early on that Paul has a very large, very empathetic heart. It shows in his lyrics. Let It Be... Eleanor Rigby... it's all empathy. What a really nice man.

I Sir Paul and I share a birthday... I'm almost guaranteed to hear The Beatles' "Birthday" on my birthday, because DJ's love to pay tribute to Paul. I'm one of the blessed few who can sing that song in earnest!

You say it's your birthday
It's my birthday too--yeah
They say it's your birthday
We're gonna have a good time
I'm glad it's your birthday
Happy birthday to you.

7. That was awesome... his standing his ground!
I think he has a kind heart, and I don't think he would say anything like that without a strong conviction. My local PBS station cut that bit out of last night's airing, but I'd already known about it so I wasn't too disappointed. He said many glowing things about the Obama's, and that was really great. It was his night, his award, and he shared the good vibes.

I'm glad Obama continues to do these events. We need them. We really do.

2. It was also great seeing Jerry Seinfeld doing stand-up again. His
subject matter was hilarious (Sir Paul's song titles re married, un-married).. His delivery was flawless. Great choice, no gaffes and just as cute as ever.

5. Happened to catch it with friends last night

At least starting with Paul telling the Prez billions of people were supporting him and then singing "Michele." That was sweet. We weren't sure if High Kuntree Kaybull was going to hold out but managed to get the rest in well.

As an old singer, I was inspired by Sir McCartney. His voice is still great; I imagine those songs are etched in his memory forever...and the whole band sings backup which was fun.

One of the younger folk last night asked, "He was in The Beatles, right?"

Made me and my older friend just feel older...lol

8. It was such a beautiful special!
Band on the Run was just fantastic. I also loved seeing The President and The First Lady all romantic singing Michelle, and the end with all of them singing Hey Jude.

I loved to see Paul, who'd you think that by how has seen it all and would be jaded or arrogant, looking so excited and humbled by the experience. He really has a good head on his shoulders and truly appreciates and seems thankful for his wonderful life.

Thank you Paul for your music, and thank you Mr. President for such a great event.
