We hear about our obligations there, and there, and there and there . . . . .
. . . . . but what about here at home? We have, literally, millions of unemployed people. And don't feed me that "they stopped looking" crap. Our unemployment rate is actually in the high teens. How much of that will become structural?

Here's the heart of the matter: what do we do for these millions who are out of jobs. Ignore them? Let them live like animals? Let them commit robberies at preapproved houses?

Really, what's the plan? We all know that the *good* jobs are now in China and India. There are no new jobs for these poor bastards. They are structurally unemployed. Soon to be homeless.

Homeless, America. They are about to be HOMELESS.

Do you have a solution?

Is this on? Is anyone listening?

Does anyone in our campaign-obsessed government GIVE A FUCK????

2. I think we will be ignored and no one does care.
At least, I think no one with the power to help cares.

I am sorry to say..No..

I never thought in my life I would see democrats turn their backs to the jobless, the poor, the people so desparately needing health care..then tell us you are "for the democrats or against them"..and bully people and then expect people to go vote??

I never thought I would see again in my lifetime Democrats support illegal wars..

I never thought in my lifetime I would see Democrats support illegal spying on Americans..

I never thought in my lifetime I would see democrats support renditions and torture...

I never thought I would see democrats turn over a disaster, as in the Gulf Of Mexico, turn over the disaster to a foreign corporation it caused by negligence and criminal behavior..and then turn over the Coast Guard and the EPA to cover said corporations asses..and become the PR arm of said corporation!
EPA Whistle-blower :People and Dolphins are Hemorrhaging from Corexit and BP

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANsBlXFfows&feature=player_embedded

I never thought I would see in my lifetime a democrat support the gutting of our public schools to corporate whores!

I never thought I would see again in my lifetime a democratic government not prosecute those who would shit all over our Department of Justice, and put people into the Department of Justice that would turn their backs on the gutting of said department and the laws it was supposed to follow!

I never thought in my lifetime I would see a democratic government sell out health care to corporate scum bags!

So to answer your questions...These New democrats don't give a rats ass about anything but holding onto their own power..an winning..everything else seems like it is a burden to them..and might mess with their golf times ..and weekly parties .

7. Many years ago, I was on a "Minimum Standard of Living" kick.
I am, sadly, much more cynical now.

6. The Democratic Party had a solution.
"In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all—regardless of station, race, or creed.

Among these are:

*The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation;

*The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;

*The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;

*The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;

*The right of every family to a decent home;

*The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;

*The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;

*The right to a good education.

All of these rights spell security. And after this war is won we must be prepared to move forward, in the implementation of these rights, to new goals of human happiness and well-being.

For unless there is security here at home there cannot be lasting peace in the world.--FDR

Of course, THAT was the OLD Democratic Party.
Sadly, that party does NOT exist anymore.

"If we don't fight hard enough for the things we stand for,
at some point we have to recognize that we don't really stand for them."

--- Paul Wellstone

8. The party of NO and the "something for nothing" crowd has stymied any
chance of getting help to these people. Until they are gone nothing is going to happen. It will only get worse, if the GOP/NO picks up seats in Congress this fall.
