Anderson Cooper acts like he thinks Rupert Murdoch will buy CNN any day now.

My letter to Mr. Cooper:

Mr. Cooper, I held out hope that you might become a decent journalist. Heaven knows we have none other than Ms. Maddow. But with your article re. the Breitbarth/Fox conspiracy to destroy the career of Shirley Sherrod, I have given up hope.

What happened isn’t just a prank and certainly isn’t the first time this has happened. In fact it appears to me to be a right wing smear tactic. A tactic they have used before and will use again. Who will they target next.

Although you appear to take Mr. Breitbarth to task you neutralize it by claiming that this is done by both sides. Please Mr. Cooper, where is your integrity. Who on the left has done this sort of thing? Purposefully edited a video for the purposes of slander. And then of course, part of the plan, Fox runs with it. They will claim no responsibility for the slander because they were only quoting Mr. Breitbarth. How convenient, but a tactic they often use (there is a story here for a real journalist). This is despicable behavior by Fox. But this isn’t as damaging as having the so-call mainstream media also running with the story.
But back to you. You intimate at a balance with this slanderous behavior, when there is no balance. “The left and the right have their own anchors who only report on the stories that suit their slant. That's their right.” Sounds so “balanced” doesn’t it. That is so misleading it borders on pure deception. For every “anchor” you can name on the left, I can name 10 on the right. “Balanced”. And what about talk radio? The “balance” is more like 60 to 1. That’s your story Mr. Anderson.

The working people in this country are struggling to stay afloat while the greedy rich are scooping up all the wealth and putting the middle class deep in debt. We need honest journalists. I guess I cant blame you for choosing the side with the power and wealth.

You act as if you think Mr. Rupert Murdoch will be buying CNN any day.

He called Breitbart a bully. He interviewed Sherrod and people who were in the audience when she spoke. It was one of his better shows. Did you watch it?

There is no balance between the right and left. Anyone who says there is balance is lying.

I can't think of any time when a progressive edited something a conservative said, then distributed it to all the progressive media outlets and got the person fired. It hasn't happened.

I couldn't get a progressive radio program on broadcast radio for hundreds of miles from where I live, yet there are several local stations who air 24/7 hate radio.

Cooper is wrong. There is no balance, there is no equality. The right side does it because they have the media outlets to get their message (lies) out.

It is not only Mr. Cooper who, all too often, cite the "both sides do it", Blitzer and many others on CNN do the same and they should be called on it every time just as you are doing it now. Well done.

As soon as they, including Mr. Cooper, throw that into the mix they offer cover to the slimeballs who are the ONLY SIDE doing it, ie the rabid right wing media and their talking heads.

The news personalities who identify with the liberal side themselves seem to feel pressed to say that all the time-- well, the left does that too--

and then they have to reach way back to an incident 30 years ago-- not the many right wing smears of the past few years.

They rail against strong language from the left when it emerges without saying "But the right wing does that 24/7 on Fox News and Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage, Levine, etc. make outrageous right wing declarations every single day."

Hours of upset about Reverend Wright while Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin regularly say worse things and are still invited back onto the airwaves.


Funny how that "both sides do it" lie is bandied about when right wingers are called out but not when the news chat personalities are criticizing a Democrat who makes a left of center bold statement.
