I appreciate the WH & USDA did the right thing but....
when did our government, our democratic controlled government decide to use Right-Wing Screeds as their Humane Resource guide?

This whole thing just made us look weak in their eyes. Make an edited video that puts someone in a bad light, air it on Faux and watch the White House scramble to fire people.

If the White House and USDA really want to do the right thing they should sue Breibart for slander.

1. They did the right thing because they got shamed into doing so.
they committed an act of sheer political cowardice, and then got busted doing so.

They really didn't have a choice.

3. They don't have standing to file suit. Ms. Sherrod has standing and may do so

according to reports. (At least on the basis of slander, the WH doesn't have standing.)

4. It's become embarrassing that we knee-jerk react to Fox, et al, without having the
facts. I pray we're more circumspect in the future. This incident has garnered so much coverage I'm hopeful it will actually be a lesson learned.

5. Are you saying that President Breitbart doesn't have the discretion to hire who he wants?
I think that's the very essence of being the Chief Executive! And if President Breitbart decides that Shirley Sherrod is no longer useful in her position, it's totally up to him to get rid of her. Let Andrew be Andrew, by golly!

7. Vilsack didn't care even after he knew the truth and said so.
He stated that 'because of the controversy she couldn't do her job anyway'. He should be let go, but not right away. To fire him now would simply give Fox et al another 'scalp' and they would take it as a victory. However, I hope his time is running out, he was never a good choice to begin with and he proved it beyond a doubt with this situation.

Obviously wiser heads prevailed so he had to do the right thing. I would like to think we have people in positions of power who do the right thing because it is what you are supposed to do.

These DLCers are focused on political calculations only, not on how those calculations affect individuals, the American people or the country.

9. You're absolutely right. The White House was punked by punks.
I believe to the soles of my feet that the WH knew of the incident and called for her head, but had the USDA act for them. There is NO WAY ***sack acted on his own. I will never believe he acted on his own.

And, while the real evil in all this the right wing, the actions after the fact by the WH make us look . . . . not competent.

10. It was about sixty years ago.
When there was an agreement between the pugs, the dems and the media that anyone that refused to adhere to the accepted label of republican or democrat, was a radical and not worthy of listening to.
