Why didn't Sherrod go to the White House directly rather than CNN?
I am not blaming the victim, just trying to understand why she went about it the way she did. After talking so much trash about everyone yesterday, I don't think it's possible for her to work again without bad blood.

Its sad that people don't even recognize "blaming the victim" while they are doing it.
Even sadder that they expect others to believe their denial.

29. That's exactly the problem and has been from the start.
FOX has them jumping through hoops like a trained poodle. And people wonder why there's such apathy among the people who voted for him only 2 years ago. This is a prime example and it proves that the newer tougher Obama meme we're hearing out of the white house is all talk.

Edited on Wed Jul-21-10 02:16 PM by sandnsea
All I heard is that Cheryl Cook, who works at the Ag Dept in DC, told her they wanted her to resign. I don't think Sherrod works in DC.

They're all grown ups. You say your "sorries" and continue about your business.

14. She's pissed, and deservedly so
She was treated poorly, and this will play out as it will. If I were her, I would remain "fired", and find a lawyer..and then sue Fox/Breitbart for slander & defamation of character..and then the Ag dept for wrongful termination..and then tell them all to go pound sand.

16. She made her case to her superiors and then she was fired.
As I understand it she was fired while driving down the highway. I'm not sure how one "goes to the White House directly" after that, but frankly, my guess is the White House was in the loop already. Spin it if you can, but her talking to CNN has zero to do with anything.

23. Do you think they would have let her in?
If you were fired by your Manager, do you think in these times, they'd let you go to the front office to see the boss? She said she was called and was told my A Ms. Cook that they wanted her resignation. They could not wait until she got home as she was driving at the time. she said Ms. Cook told her to pull over and text them her resignation. I imagine this Ms Cook was doing Vilsack's dirty work.

30. She just saved the jobs of many other Democratic officials...
If faux/breitbart gets away with this crap, then it won't stop. Edited videos of Democratic officials supposedly saying embarrassing things would flood the airwaves. Why? Because the WH reacted instead of investigated.

Sherrod going to the media to correct the story is the only way to clean her name and to keep this crap from happening again. Hopefully the WH has learned their lesson...as well as all other Democratic groups and politicians because no one with a (D) next to their name is safe from this scam.
