Frying plan argument leaves 2 injured

Two Indiana men injured each other during a quarrel over the ownership of a frying pan.

Police report a 49-year-old man was frying bacon at his South Bend home when his brother-in-law claimed the pan was his and an argument ensued, the South Bend Tribune reports.

Holding the skillet, the cook cornered his 47-year-old relative in a closet before spilling hot grease on him. The younger man fought back, grabbing the pan and hitting his attacker in the head with it twice.

The older man was taken to the hospital where he received 11 stitches for his injuries. He was charged with assault. The younger man was treated for third-degree burns but did not wish to press charges.

Two pieces of bacon were recovered by police from the closet.

Case closed.

I think this case is about more than the ownership of the frying pan, but also about who would eat the bacon and how many strips each could have. Once, many years ago, I cooked my roommate's bacon and boy, was he pissed. Bacon and it's aroma makes people crazy.
