Poll question: Mother's Day - Mondays' Mother of a March? Sunday vigils? Code Pink picnic, or movie? other?
Edited on Sat May-12-07 06:57 PM by jarnocan
Just wondering. I don't think there is anything wrong with just taking your mum's to dinner of course:) But wanted as many people who care to be aware that there are some vigils etc. occuring and you can find them or submit a plan on the Code Pink site.
And of course many of you know Cindy and her crew, and many Code Pinkers and others will paticipate in the Mother of a March in WDC on Monday.
Code Pink also has many plans for this summer. Here are some links to more info.

https://secure.democracyinaction.org/dia/organizations/codepink/event/distributedEventSearch.jsp?distributed_event_KEY=270&zip=27410&miles=50 Search for a Mother's Day event (or post one) in your area!

MOTHER of a March on WDC while congress is in session! More info here: http://www.thecampcaseypeaceinstitute.org/
If you can't go to WDC this weekend, it maybe another good time to call congress and remind them that YOU do STAND with the MOM's and others for Peace and ACCOUNTABILITY! (switchboard 202-224-3121)
Many great resources, contacts and actions can of course be found here as well. http://pdamerica.org/

Our kids are around the same age, and I just can't even imagine or deal with what ALL she has been through. I was in the USAR,and fortunately I could afford to get out when my kids were young. I also could not imagine what it would be like as a young mom (or dad), to be sent for more than a year at a time into that HELL on earth created by BU**SH**!
Thank you Cindy, DEE and you all who do ALL you can to help our people, country and world to heal.

1. The original intent of Mothers Day was
for Mothers to Unite for Peace. Since our country is currently waging war, I think we should use Mothers Day to work for peace. I think everyone here wants peace, and if we ALL work for peace, we will have peace.

2. cool also congrats to the person going to WDC to lobby-wish I could (should have)
One thing I like about where we are having the Greensboro vigil is that it is a suburban location, and there are so few ways to reach people in suburbia. Seems easier to hand out flyers in a city.
