I heard Richard Holbrook say on Rachel last night that one requirement
for anyone we might classify as enemy to become a normal citizen of Afghanistan was to turn in their guns. How do Republicans feel about that? Do Afghans not have the right to defend themselves? Are all Afghan citizens required to be gun free? Is just the fact you own a gun branding you as enemy? Why would we think it should work like that in Afghanistan where they really don't have much of a police or army to protect people and yet in America where we have the best protection possible everyone must own a gun to protect themselves? What am I missing here?

1. Heh. Gun ownership is a fundamental human right, here in...
the US enshrined in the Bill of rights.

At least that's what I'm told.

So, ummm, if it's a fundamental human right, everyone on the planet, including Afghanis, Somalis, Congolese, Colombians, Mexicans... should have the right to carry arms without question.

And it should be enshrined in their laws and constitutions.

Right?

3. That's right. And human rights groups would be pushing for it
all over the world.
