I need to start ignoring right-wing relatives but my nutty conservative
Uncle says things I can't let go unchallenged.

Last night he said the housing market in Phoenix isn't selling houses because people are afraid of illegal immigrants. He claims Phoenix has a high rate of kidnappings because "Mexicans are crossing the border and taking white girls as sex slaves." But of course he says he has no problems with immigrants...yeah right.

Then he claimed the Gulf is being hurt more by the drilling moratorium than the oil spill.

Every time I correct with facts he implies I'm either naive because I haven't been "out in the world" or he is "entitled to his opinion."

He is a nice guy but when it comes to politics he's about one of the most disingenuous, unprincipled, ignorant, clueless, and hypocritical conservatives.

He is one of these guys who rail against people on welfare yet bitched and moaned when the Feds deregulated OT pay and it effected him and also when he couldn't get an unemployment fast enough.

The worst thing is that he goes off on environmentalists and EPA regulation yet works for a company who does most of its business for industrial plants refurbishing piping REQUIRED by the EPA.

Yes the only reason he's employed is because of us tree hugging commies.

4. My new response to their talking points?

"Yep. The Neo-Cons spend billions of dollars to get you to believe all kinds of bullcrap. Looks like they're getting every penny's worth!"

That usually makes them stop for a minute while I walk away laughing.

6. The oil, that will be sold overseas.
We don't even use the oil that is produced off US shores for our own country.
