HAY! I just got polled by CBS News! It was quite a long poll.
It lasted about 15-20 minutes and there were lots of questions. Almost all the questions were about Obama and how I felt about how he's doing his job. They wee all multiple choice or yes & no, and about 5 of the questions were really not able to be answered with the choice of options I was given. I remember one question was did the President spend too much time, about the right amount of time, or not enough time, to get heal care reform passed? I told the guy that it was impossible to answer that with the options given because it was way too much time but it wasn't the President that took too much time but the Congress! There were similar bad option questions about how Obama is handling the oil spill, creating jobs, and a few other topics that Obama really can't control. I was glad to hear one question was should congress extend unemployment benefits, and should the President continue to spend money to create jobs & worry about the deficit, both questions I answered YES!

I can't say that I would love to take calls like that all the time because of the time involved, but it's a comforting feeling that I got at least ONE. I can guarantee you that I am sure not any plant and the call was obviously random.

3. The guy didn't give his name that I recall. He said he was calling from CBS News, and
the results will be aired by Katie Curik (s) on Tuesday's evening news. If I wanted to check the results online, I could go to CBSNews.com after the Tues. news program and see them there. I don't know if they're going to post ALL the questions & answers or not, but I made a note to check it and se.

D'oh! I was polled by Gallup about 7 years ago. I had fun answering their questions about Bush :-).

5. It's all those "bad option" questions that bother me.
I'm glad you got a chance to say what you thought about unemployment benefits and the deficit....but when pollsters put factors like "too much time" into the questions sounds to me like they're attempting to obscure, not illuminate. And the more "twisty" the questions are, the more they can slant the results . What's wrong with just asking whether or not you approve of certain policies?
....If the Fire Department manages to put out a terrible fire, do we really ask the general population whether they took "too long" to put it out?

7. The biggest problem I found with the too much time or is HE doing enough questions is that
I don't believe that the President really had a lot to do with the CONGRESS taking too much time on health care or just what COULD the PRESIDENT do to stop the oil spill quicker? I added my own commets about who was at fault and I don't believe it was the President's in most cases.

They did have one question that I appreciated though. He asked if the Pesident can really create jobs. OF course he can't, but some of the other questions were about spending money now on things like repairing our disintigrating infrastructure to give people jobs that would not only loower the unemployment #'s and do repairs that are badly needed, but would also create demand that would help businesses and really get things rolling again.

I hve no idea if any of my remarks were recorded, but the guy really did take a lot of time and was fairly intelligent, unlike most of the pollsters I've gtten in the past that stick strictly with a script and cannot or wil not deviate at all!
