Could someone kindly assist my old brain as to how to post pics. I have one I would like to share.

One of my favorite features here is that you don't need to add a bunch of code to post a pic. If the picture is online, just right click, copy image location, come to DU, make a post and paste the picture's url in the post. Bingo, picture posts when you click post. I love that.

With your Photobucket account page open, look above the pic and you'll see 3 little hyperlinks; "Edit" "Share" & "Delete".

Click on "Edit" and the pic will open in another window. Across the top now appears several options for editing the picture, one of which is "Resize"

Play with it. You'll get it.

Again, play with it, you'll get it.

An easy way to play with it on DU is to just start a new thread, post the URL's and just hit "Preview" instead of "Post Message"

You can see what the post will look like before you put it up on a forum. You can also just cancel the thread as well, once you've gotten the hang of it.

Don't feel bad man. I went for a couple of years on here before I got it figured out. There are lots of .HTML tricks that are pretty cool that work on DU also.

4. It depends on if you want to post pics you have saved on your computer...

like pics you took with your digital camera and saved to your hardrive or if you just want to post pictures you found elsewhere on the web. If it is pics on your computer, the advice above about Photobucket works well.

If it is pics you find on the web, the advice about posting the URL of the pic is correct.

You can right-click on any photo and click "properties". This will open a dialogue box that will reveal the URL of the pic, if it isn't already at the top in the browser.

5. Pic from Internet or pic from your computer?

Internet: Right click over pick> choose Copy Link Location from drop down menu> Paste copy into your post

Computer: Upload pic to a server such as Photobucket> Use Edit feature to reduce pic size to Large or Medium> save as Copy so you still have original pic in your online file> Either use right click Copy Link Location or if in Photobucket, use Direct Link in the Share box beside or under your pic..this will copy the link for you> Paste into your post.
