Democrats in Trouble, But Voters Hate Republicans More
http://www.beyondchron.org/news/index.php?itemid=8300

<snip>

As the corporate media reports stories that Democrats are in trouble this November, they ignore a major detail: no matter how much Obama and Democrats have disappointed us, voters recognize a Republican Congress would make things worse. In Ohio, which has a hot U.S. Senate election, a recent poll shows that undecided voters in that race give the President a meager 35% approval rating, and Democrats in Congress a pathetic 26%. But only 10% approve of Republicans in Congress, which probably puts them slightly beneath Attila the Hun. In other words, the only thing that could lead to a Republican landslide in November is mass voter apathy. The more Democrats fail to deliver and depress their base, they are sealing their own doom.

1. I've never understood people that sit home on their ass during midterms and
let others decide for them. Like that's really an effective protest.

5. And thus, years of relying *solely* on the "lesser of two evils" strategy...
...comes home to roost...

6. That's the mood
People are unhappy with the Dems, worried about the Depression (predicted by Krugman) but they absolutely hate the GOP.

7. That sounds about right.
At least from my experiences in talking to people.
They're not happy with Democrats, but they loathe Republicans.
Sir Bush the Fuckup may be gone, but he ain't forgotten.
