'Unexpected'
The ubitquitous new economic paragigm.

Nearly every single bad economic report that has come down from on high in the past two years has been characterized as "unexpected" - which just goes to show you that there is no one in this country that truly knows what the hell is going on. That is except the crooks orchestrating all this "unexpected" bad news.

The latest "unexpected" news came out just today: http://www.google.com/search?q=Consumer%20confidence%20unexpected&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&oe=UTF-8&rlz=1I7GGLR_en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbo=u&tbs=nws:1&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wn">Consumer Confidence Crashes

Makes one wonder what the next "unexpected" event will be. If we're lucky, perhaps it will be a giant asteroid on a collision course with stupidity.

3. Is it not possible that it simply shows that everybody in and around the business has

a vested interest in that business continuing? Most people that study and work in this "industry" frequently do know what is happening, but since there is no upside to pointing it out, they keep their mouths shut about it.

I've said for years that if I ever meet Realtor that tells me "now is not a good time to buy", they will have my business for life and everyone I know will get an earful of why they need to use this person as well.

7. It is.
I just want to keep kicking these threads by throwing out stuff that some people might not know, or dare I hope, that some might investigate this topic for themselves. Getting people to learn even a little about how economics works, and more importantly, how it could work is much harder than pulling teeth from an angry Pitbull.

We are literally drowning in a sea of ignorance.

6. And "revised"....
Ever notice that "good" reports come out, then are later "revised" downward?

Probably due to the "unexpected" reality.

8. The reason is clear: an expectations deficit.
We've taxed and spent our expectations to the point that we no longer have enough, so most findings are naturally unexpected.
