3. wrong priorities
no way to cut the deficit in a down economy and spur the economy at the same time.

If he really cuts the deficit by half by 2013, the national economy will slide into what no one will be able to argue is not a depression, IMO.

Come on now President Obama, it really isn't that difficult to figure out that this country spends far too much on war and the makings of war.

7. "My goals as given to me by the G20 is to cut our deficit in half by 2013"
would be a lot more accurate, don't you think?

let the chips fall where they may.

19. Actually that goal is about what Obama's previous budget proposals project.
Edited on Sun Jun-27-10 05:55 PM by Make7
From a February 17, 2010 article by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities:

Whether or not one believes those numbers to be realistic, the President's current goal doesn't seem much different than what his previous budget proposals indicated.

8. He sends conflicting messages
He has Tiny Tim Geithner urging the EU not to concentrate on deficits while the recession is still with us, then he makes a boneheaded statement to agree with the IMF to cut deficits in 3 years?

24. what about his admin's plan to end chronic homelessness in a few years..
they had a pdf that was basically what sounded like a (good) trojan horse for expanding medicaid to a medicaid for all type program

http://www.usich.gov/PDF/OpeningDoors_2010_FSPPreventEndHomeless.pdf

that's the way I read it since they kept mentioning expanding medicaid in it...how will they do that when states are having Greek-style budget crises and he wants to lower the half the deficit without stopping the wars(?)

... we've given the banks trillions but is nothing left for you working shlubs. Deal with it.

It's astounding that our government looks like it is going to make the same mistake that tipped us into a depression in the 30s AGAIN.
