Does anyone know if the monthly 'Boots on the Ground' report is public?

The Department of Defense is required to give a monthly report on the number of troops deployed in OEF and OIF.

Is that report public information? And, is so, can anyone find a link? TIA.

Go here and hit the hotlink titled, Download most recent Iraq index. I'm not furnishing a direct link to the actual report because you have to go about it this way to ensure you're getting the latest report.

When you get to the PDF file that contains the Iraq Index report, notice there are links on the title page to their indexes for Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Now scroll to page 19 of the Iraq Index report to see Coalition Troop Strength in Iraq. Look in the table of contents of the other two reports to see what page contains the information in question.

Brookings says these reports are updated every 2 weeks. I'm not sure that's always been the case but they do update them at least once a month.
