8. I think they believe the chambers are interlinked.
Therefore, removing the oil from other sources will reduce the amount of oil that gets spilled from the damaged well.

10. That's not so bad
At least that theory rests upon mistaken science. That's better than no science at all, which is usually where the right wing comes from.

It's pretty insane though, the idea that we need more drilling so the oil pressure can be lowered in an orderly manner.

Good thing we're around to do that, I suppose, or the planet would be doomed.
