Brace yourself for the dumbest comment ever made to a newspaper article EVER
In pursuit of fruit: Schools get orchards

The fruit trees are skinny and not very tall, but the dreams for them are big.

The hope is that the some 200 fig, pear, peach, apple, apricot, nectarine, cherry and other young trees recently planted at five north state schools will provide students with lots of fruit, as well as lessons on science, math and stewardship.

“It’s been the highlight of my school year — to see the excitement in the students and to think about the potential of all that fresh produce for the kids,” said Aura Weinstein, a fourth-grade teacher at Shasta Meadows Elementary School in Redding.

Forty-one fruit trees were planted recently at Shasta Meadows through The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, a nonprofit group that brings fruit trees to communities throughout the world. Lassen View and Cypress elementary schools in Redding also got fruit trees, as did Shasta College and East Cottonwood Elementary School.

While Cherry trees may fruit out before school is out, other fruit trees do not....so who will actually take care of them? Who in the middle of July will eat and distribute the fruit ? Best of intentions with a total lack of knowledge regarding the product. Welcome to socialism.

4. I'll take socialism, thank you very much...
..."If folks like Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh make their careers off of using the word socialism as a slur, how bad could it be?" asks 35-year-old Shane Johnson of Corryville, a union electrician who helped revive Cincinnati's International Socialist Organization

8. please apologize to parrots ...
It's probably more like hooking electric wires to the severed leg of a dead frog ... you run a current through a dead TeaBagger, and he'd probably scream "Socialism" ... hmm, is running an electric current through a TeaBagger covered by his Medicare?

13. It gets even worse, if you can believe it...
In the summer, the entire town empties out. Everyone leaves. Probably to spend the hot months in the Socialism Re-education Camps.

14. I can answer
Birds will eat the fruit and also distribute it, probably on this person's car.

I wonder if a vending machine with some "fruit-like" product would be more to their liking. A tree just lets anybody eat without credit worthiness being checked.

16. Yeah, nothing says socialism like fresh fruit! LOL
some people choose not to think, but react instead.

It's really a wonderment how so many people survive their daily routine without killing themselves via their on ignorant selves.

Cheers!

17. Socialism is the new liberal. I remember back when
it all began. When liberal was first used as a vulgarity.
