Gotcha!
It was actually in the country of our government's BFFs, Uribe and Santos.
"The judge who sentenced a retired army officer to 30 years in prison for the disappearance of 10 civilians who survived the November 1985 battle between troops and leftist rebels occupying the Palace of Justice in Bogota left Colombia because of death threats, an attorney for the victims said Tuesday.
Before leaving Colombia, Judge Maria Stella Jara requested that Col. Alfonso Plazas be immediately transferred to prison, lawyer Jorge Molano said.
Plazas is currently under arrest at the Military Hospital in Bogota and doctors there say he is in no condition to go to prison.
Judge Jara and her son have been the targets of death threats since last year, Molano told Caracol Radio.
Colombia’s outgoing president, conservative Alvaro Uribe, said after Jara’s verdict that he was saddened by the conviction of Plazas, describing the retired colonel as a soldier “who simply tried to do his duty.”"
