post NBA finals rioting

At 7th and Flower streets, a crowd of more than 500 people surrounded a Metro bus and numerous people attempted to pull the bus driver out through the driver's side window, Parker said. Deputies deployed tear gas and sting balls, causing the crowd to disperse. They rescued the bus driver and the occupants of the bus.

A taxi driver was attacked, and his taxi was set on fire, Parker said. While rescuing him, rocks and bottles were thrown at deputies, who used sting balls and stun bags to break up the crowd, he said. They rescued the driver and, with the help of LAPD officers, took him out of the area.

1. While rioting because your team wins is stupid, that photo of the flaming grocery cart is awesome.

2. Ah, the beautiful people who root for the Lakers
What else would one expect? The good news is that we won't be seeing any similar "celebrations" in Los Angeles at the conclusion of the World Series or the Super Bowl, quite possibly forever.

6. Hell, Montreal Canadiens fans do this after the first round of the playoffs.
Laker fans are clearly amateurs.

13. Yeah but habs fans have to do it
when they win in the first rounds, they don't make it to the finals. Lakers fans can save it up for the big one at the end.

8. They take their basketball a lot more seriously in Italy
Its not uncommon to have a fan throw a lit stick of dynamite onto the court there. They love their basketball.

12. How the heck do these photographers...
get through all the rioting unscathed?

Wouldn't you think that these assholes who are destroying everything in sight would love to grab a camera and smash it open?

14. Poor guy in the car seems to be saying what the fuck?
And, it looks like the girl in the photo is trying to explain to the terrified driver by way of a sign that the Lakers won.

What a world!

19. I have an idea for a new sport...
Let these Lakers fans loose in an appropriately abandoned section of Detroit, along with groups of Habs fans, and various English Soccer hooligans, and some of the more rowdy Europan Ultras clubs... You have a new sport that will get insane ratings!
