Heritage Foundation parrots the "shakedown" theme, compares Obama to the Godfather
The voices of America's right wing continue to show their concern for BP's coffers. Now the leading Republican-linked think tank weighs in. Remember this in November: Republicans stand with BP. Democrats stand with the shrimpers.

Barton should have been apologizing to the American people, not BP, but other than that he is 100% correct. What happened in the White House yesterday was a “shakedown” of Godfather-like proportions.

I applaud Barton...about time somebody calls a spade a spade or a crook. I’m tired of all this bull shitte nice talk..this is a shakedown pure and simple....call it as it is. Thanks Joe Barton...nice to see somebody has some stones in the congress!

The agreement to pay 20 billion is questionable, why would a company agree to do that without some sort of court order.

However, what I really don’t like is who is going to control the dispensing of those funds. This really amounts to nothing more than a bribe from BP that will be used by obama to buy political favors.

I apologize to BP for:
•Lack of due process
•For EPA regulations that make force you to drill in difficult and dangerous waters
•For a president who care more for golf than the Gulf
•For failure to repeal the Jones act thereby greatly increasing your liability
•For Ken Salazar (no other reason required)
•For threats and grandstanding of the executive office
•For having to jack up prices at the pump to pay off the protection money
•For the monies you part with to go to fund the friends of Obama and the Unions and not to the people directly affected
•For a moratorium on off-shore activities requiring massive layoffs of your employees
•For being the target of the liberal smear machine
•For World cup soccer!

Extortion plain and simple...it was a shake down Barton was right and had the guts to say so...screw markey...dem butt boy

REPEAL THE SHAKEDOWN FUND!

Real Americans are appalled at this move. We need to make it clear that our side will undo this deal — right after we repeal KenyaCare.
