And it continues... Sen. Isakson (Asshole R-GA) refers to constituents as 'unwashed' then apologizes
http://www.ajc.com/news/georgia-politics-elections/isakson-apologizes-for-unwashed-551585.html

WASHINGTON -- Amid rising heat over recent comments in which he referred to voters as the "unwashed," Sen. Johnny Isakson issued an apology Thursday, saying he meant no harm.

"It was a poor choice of words," Isakson said in a statement Thursday. "I didn't mean anything derogatory by it, and I sincerely apologize."

The apology came two days after Isakson, an incumbent who's up for re-election, made an off-the-cuff remark about a speech that Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle of Nevada gave to him and other Republican senators on Capitol Hill.

"It wasn't the kind of speech you would give to the unwashed back home," Isakson said of Angle's talk. His comments first appeared on a Fox News Web site. "She was talking to her colleagues."

1. The elite has a very dim view

of those who do not have mega bucks in their pockets.

I expect "unwashed" is one of the better terms this guy usually uses about the common man.

4. These people from SC, GA, TX, etc. can say what they damn well please.
They don't have to worry about getting re-elected. They've got an ES&S insurance plan.

Their job in the Congress lasts until they decide to retire out of boredom of saying no all the time and letting their brains atrophy (if they have any to begin with), so they can take a job with whatever industry they shilled for while taking up space in Congress.

5. Sadly, this is exactly the truth
I like how they're slipping up and admitting to how they really feel about all us 'small people' though. It's time for regular Americans to take our heads out of our collective behinds and take down these arrogant, filthy, perfumed little dirt bags. Unfortunately, they have some justification for their contempt. Americans are, as a whole, the most apathetic, passive, brain washed bunch of ignorant losers I've ever seen. We don't fight, we don't even vote them out of office. We let corporations run roughshod over us with the help of their politically funded lackeys in the White House and Congress, and we don't do anything to stop them. It's time for change. Not Obama change, real change. But good luck changing anything when the majority of Americans flinch and cringe at the very idea of being called a leftist or a socialist and when the poorest vote against their own interests for religious reasons.

12. Welcome to DU!
Lou Jones, Isakson was born rich. His dad wasn't but had made a fortune in developing real estate in North Atlanta.

15. I wonder if Mr. Isakson knows that the people who voted to put him in office
are mostly filthy, ignorant yokels.

That should be played over and over before the election.

18. I had a college fellow alumni refer to the average people in my state
as the "ass-masses." I told him that, come the Revolution, I would gladly arrange for him and his ilk to be strung up on the nearest lamp posts. He was clearly startled at my sentiments since I seemed on the surface to be another Olde College Chum.
