7. Don't get me wrong
I think it is great and unprecedented. My only point is that Cheney gave the industry 100's of billions in concessions and otherwise. BP just drew the short stick when it came to who would mess up first.

2. ... and they couldn't have the foresight to spend a little bit on BOP's.

The greedy bastards.

3. Mike Papantonio -- he also said getting the commitment to money up front
is unprecedented. Almost impossible. He's impressed by what Obama was able to get from them. As he said, the company will always come out and say they will do what's right, but meantime their silk stocking $2000/hr attorneys get to work seeing that these people won't get anything. Obama essentially said - I'm hip to your tricks, we don't trust you, show me the money NOW.

6. And this shoudl be exploited by Dems for election purposes wherever they can.
Many Repubes out there blaming Obama admin for everything...just turn it around and say, we know everything Obama has done but you tell us what happened in 2002 between Bush and Cheney and the oil companies.
