Now I know who Carly Fiorina reminds me of!
Leona Helmsley!

Next, Carly will be quoted as saying that only little people pay taxes!

3. HP didn't care for her too much. They tossed her out on her butt...
Edited on Thu Jun-10-10 12:23 PM by BrklynLiberal
wikipedia:
In early January 2005, the Hewlett-Packard board of directors discussed with Fiorina a list of issues that the board had regarding the company's performance.<36> The board proposed a plan to shift her authority to HP division heads, which Fiorina resisted.<37> A week after the meeting, the confidential plan was leaked to the Wall Street Journal.<38> Less than a month later, the board brought back in Tom Perkins and forced Fiorina to resign as chairman and chief executive officer of the company.<39> The company's stock jumped on news of Fiorina's departure.<40> Under the company's agreement with Fiorina, which was characterized as a golden parachute by some, she was paid slightly more than twenty million dollars in severance.<41> When Fiorina became CEO in July, 1999, HP's stock price was $52 per share, and when she left 5 1/2 years later in February, 2005, it was $21 per share—a loss of over 60% of the stock's value.<42> During this same time period, HP competitor Dell's stock price increased from $37 to $40 per share.<43><44>

Fiorina was succeeded, on an interim basis, by Patty Dunn as chairman, and then-CFO Robert Wayman as acting chief executive. Before her departure, Fiorina had launched an intensive hunt for board room leaks, and one of the leakers later turned out to be George A. Keyworth, II. Dunn continued to investigate along these lines to determine which board member(s) had been leaking information to the media. The methods used by Dunn led to the HP spying scandal and she was soon succeeded by Mark Hurd.<45><46>

Outside judgments on Fiorina's tenure at HP are mixed. In 2008, Infoworld grouped her with a list of products and ideas as flops, declaring her to be the "anti-Steve Jobs" for reversing the goodwill of American engineers and for alienating existing customers.<47> In 2008, Loren Steffy of the New York Times suggested that the EDS acquisition well after Fiorina's tenure was evidence that her actions as CEO were justified.<23> In April 2009, the business magazine web site Condé Nast Portfolio listed Fiorina as one of "The 20 Worst American CEOs of All Time", characterizing the HP-Compaq merger as a widely regarded failure, and citing the halving of HP's stock value under Fiorina's tenure

and with THAT puss, she had alot of nerve even bringing up the subject of Barbara Boxer's looks.

Sen Boxer is one of the classiest women in DC. Fiorina, it would seem, will never even come close to attaining that title.
Gawd..I hope Sen Boxer prevails..devastatingly!!!

13. Are you alluding to how HP employees (including myself) reacted to Carly's firing?
They were literally singing "Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead" and dancing in the aisles, eating Hostess Ding Dongs!

screwed over by Palmer...and then screwed over by HP when a former colleague (still at HP) and his wife (a vp at Fidelity) got my identity stolen, complete with ssn, old addie and phone number from the laptop stolen from his wife's rental car while parked in HP's parking lot, and my current addie, phone, work and education history courtesy of the resume he requested from me for bogus free-lance work. :grr: :grr: :grr:

My undertanding is that corruption reigned supreme under Carly....

22. Ah, DU. Y'all never fail to confirm that the worst thing a woman can do
is not destroy two decent computer companies and throw thousands out of work, but to have looks not in conformance with the patriarchy. Thanks so much. I was beginning to worry that feminism had taken root here.

25. It's not so much her hair,
Edited on Thu Jun-10-10 11:03 PM by backscatter712
but she had to get nasty and make fun of Barbara Boxer's hair - at that point, she's fair game.

It's not just her hair that's like Leona Helmsley, it's her personality.
