Those who profess to favor freedom and yet deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. The struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical, but it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will---".

That is from Mr. Zinn's "A People's History of the United States". I believe it is as true today as it was when spoken in 1847.

We have too many people who are too willing to take "NO!" for an answer. They are the folks who value civility over effectiveness, legality over morality and getting along over getting it done.
