Edited on Tue May-08-07 10:55 PM by Harper_is_Bush
Check it: http://www.glennbeck.com/live/index.shtml

I've been bitching for a week or two about Select Comfort giving money to this global warming denial artist.

I provided contact information, and a few folks were grateful and indicated they took action.

The reality is the response was muted, so I'm confused.

Is DU full of ineffectual folks who advocate a weak response to swift-boat type behaviour? Where are all those people who dumped on Kerry?

WHY ARE YOU NOT JUMPING ON THE SPONSORS OF THIS...SOMETHING THAT THREATENS OUR PLANET....LIKE YOU JUMPED ON THE SWIFTBOAT MOVIE??????

1. "Wamring?" "DU MIA?" Do you post with too many question marks???? Maybe????
I'm damn sorry to be the one to break the news to you, but please take this advice in the friendly manner in which it's offered (though I expect I'll get bitten in the ass for offering it):

There's a WAR going on right now. There are many other important issues for people to discuss and worry about in this country.

What the Select Comfort Company does with its money is not an important issue, even though it may seem to be so to you.

Again, I'm sorry to have to break the news to you, but I'll tell you the truth even when nobody else will: Nobody cares who a mattress company sends money to.

Actually I care and I missed the OP's original post because I was busy for a couple of weeks. I will be contacting them. I care about Beck's lies about global warming being on CNN and I care about who the sponsors are.

I also have a piece of friendly advice (surely since you hand it out so freely, you will be able to take it as well):

It is a bad idea to say things like "Nobodycares about xyz" on a message board of this size, since it sounds as though you are speaking for everyone and in this instance and actually most of the time you are not speaking for me and I would guess also not for some other subset of the crowd here, however many people you actually represent. So unless you can make everyone who doesn't think exactly like you disappear, it is factually inaccurate for you to say "nobody cares".
Global warming is the biggest issue for me-much more so than the war. It is not for you? Ok-but your priorities need not represent those of every single individual on the board.

Of course you can and will ignore this, but I like giving advice to people who always go around giving unsolicited advice themselves. You see I am telling you the truth that "no one else will" ;).

2. I see that you edited for the spelling, but my advice stays the same:
You can tilt at windmills all you want to, but if they're windmill that nobody else sees, you end up being just a pitiable guy on a donkey, charging back and forth on the Andalusian plains, to no effect besides public perplexion.

Once more, trust me on this, OK?

10. Yes I edited the spelling. If somebody is so bothered by a mispelled word that they point it out
then I don't mind fixing it. Anything to stop someone from having a nervous breakdown.

I appreciate accuracy, and those who strive for it. I try to focus on ideas though, rather than empty platitudes and spelling.

4. Thanks for the link
I will contact them and pass them on to my enviro mailing list. I missed your post. I will look up Select Comfort. I will point out that no one is watching Beck either.

You will be pleased to hear though that Beck has really low ratings. So hopefully no one is watching his crap. I saw his "special" on global warming-it was appalling.
