Ari Fleisher? Really?
He's on MSNBC doing major dis on Obama. After pimping for the guys who created the mess we're in he's hardly qualified to complain about the cleanup crew.

3. I hate to say it, but
he made a good point about the much needed prosecution of BP this morning. Doing it now is only going to slow the job. Since everybody now KNOWS that they're being criminally investigated, they won't do anything without legal approval. If the prosecution just waited, BP would simply fail to the job on their own merits and then the prosecution could proceed apace.

I am not a legal anything, so somebody please tell me why this is an inaccurate portrayal. I HATE feeling like Ari Fleischer makes sense. I'd rather agree with Pat Buchanan.

9. The Legal Horse Is Long Out Of The Barn...
BP was "lawyered up" from the get-go...a big reason they've downplayed the amount of oil let loose and the scope of the disaster. The crimes the DOJ is looking into are on several levels...from the deaths of the 11 workers to the shortcuts taken that were the cause of the blow-out to the efforts (or lack of) in cleaning up the oil to the damage that oil is now doing to the economy and ecosystem of the states along the Gulf Coast.

Ari's a shill who has no credibility...especially when asked to "second guess" an administration that has spent a majority of its time cleaning up the messes his bosses did. He's not making sense...just trying to throw shit at this administration. Imagine how he'd handle this situation had it occured during the previous regime...we'd be seeing Baghdad Ari saying how it was "just a little oil".

10. Prosecution right this second is probably contraindicated
But having seen this particular bit of theater play out too many times in the last several years, I'm pretty sure we're going to miss the Goldilocks Moment: We can't sue now, it's too soon. Too soon. Too soon. Other priorities. Things to do. Problem solved. New crisis emerges. Oops, now it's too late to hold BP criminally liable; that would just be wallowing in the past. Haven't the poor dears suffered enough?

5. "You can't drive."
...should be the drumbeat from now through November. One of the best Obama quotes ever, and it boils the case down to where even the most dim can comprehend it.
