Gee whiz, just as I predicted several months ago, when it was all gloom and doom for the Democrats, and Santa Claus Kasich was going to sweep into town on a wave of Republican popularity, promising no more income tax and free puppies and kittens for all. Two, count 'em, TWO ads linking Kasich to Lehman Brothers (and one complete JOKE of a rebuttal ad by the Republicans) have run here in Ohio, and look what's already begun to happen. This is just the BEGINNING of the ball rolling downhill for Kasich and the other Republicans, not only here in Ohio, but nationwide. And guess what's going to happen in the coming months as the economy continues to improve. Turns out the light the Republican Party was seeing at the end of the tunnel was an oncoming train.

As the negative ads begin to fly and the fallout from an aborted sting at the Governor's Residence reaches a crescendo, voters still prefer Gov. Ted Strickland by 5 points over GOP challenger John Kasich, the first Ohio Poll of the year shows.
