Child Prostitution in Brazil

A BBC investigation has highlighted the extent of child prostitution and sex tourism in the north-east of Brazil.

There are an estimated 250,000 children who have been forced in to the trade by parents desperate to escape poverty.

Children as young as seven are supplying an increasing demand from foreign tourists who travel to Brazil for sex holidays.

Chris Rogers reveals the dark side of Brazil's sex industry and looks at attempts to curb the problem.

This stuff is sick, evil, and twisted. These people are serious addictions and should be jailed for their offenses because the harm they cause to others. They should be sentenced to a term of 15 to 20 years in prison.

3. They do get busted here from time to time

US law provides for criminal prosecution here for the crime of travelling abroad for the purpose of sexually assaulting a minor, and some national law enforcement authorities are cooperating to identify Americans who do so.
