Is there any difference between Kim Jong II and Dick Cheney?

Kim Jong II is the nutcase who runs North Korea. And, as you know, Dick Cheney is the nutcase who ran the U.S. for eight years. Is there much difference between them?

Both ignore international laws. Neither could care less what the rest of the world thinks about them. Both believe in torture. Neither places any value on the lives of their citizens. Both will tell anyone to “fuck off” whenever they feel like it. Both believe in absolute dictatorships. Both have turned their countries into nightmare scenarios. Neither has any problem with shooting someone in the face with a shotgun and telling the police to “come back tomorrow.” Actually, we don’t know if Kim Jong II ever did this. And if he did, there wouldn’t be any pesky police bothering him.

At present, Kim Jong II is beating the war drums and threatening South Korea. This guy’s an amateur. Cheney started two wars with no drums and no threats. Do you suppose Cheney is even worse than the North Korean nut?

So, as has been asked thousands of times, why is Dick Cheney walking around free? Why isn’t he sitting in a federal prison, or at least on trial in The Hague? I guess we’ll have to wait for Obama’s presidential autobiography to learn the answer to this mystery.

Kim Jong Il was the designated successor to Kim Il Sung. In other words, Kim Jong Il entered office in his country legally and honestly.

However, he was willing to leave office, and his power was checked by other government branches, such as Congress. It cheapens our dialogue to compare that to a party dictatorship like North Korea. It is as crazy as the Teabaggers. Keep the debate realistic and it is more effective.
