State begins building berms to stop oil
The state of Louisiana has quit waiting on the Feds and has taken matters into its own hands. If the Corps of Engineers denies the permit, I hope Jindal defies them and tells the contractors full steam ahead. Jindal gets a lot of criticism here, all of it deserved, but I'm with him 100% on this. He is the only one actually trying to do something.

2. Seriously. Are they concerned that the dredging might harm the wetlands??
That's pre-BP thinking.

6. He is also afraid to get on the wrong side of republicans
since he legally won the election seems like in most cases he tries to pacify the republicans first. I don't understand this. He should tell them to go cheney themselves and go full steam ahead.

5. I've gotta agree with Jindal, too, much as it pains me. And FUCK the Army Corps of Engineers.
Aren't they the ones who built the NOLA levies? Like, THEY should have the last word on protecting Louisiana? I think not!

7. Good for them and good for Jindal!
More people need to start just doing what needs to be done to save the coasts and wetlands.
