4. Anger is certainly warranted
for oil washing into the LA marshlands, and imminent threats to wildlife and nearby coastal areas. The Everglades aren't under threat at this time, and probably won't be - prevailing winds and currents will most likely keep the oil far away, barring a tropical storm or such. At this point in time, fear of oil getting into the Everglades is irrational. Why be a Chicken Little? What good does that accomplish?

5. One hurricane can change a lot of things
And hurricane season starts, .... oh in another couple weeks right? June first?

Heck it doesn't even have to be a hurricane a decent tropical storm is enough to push oil who knows where depending on the track any storm might take.

They have speculated that the southern east coast of the US could very well be affected by this oil so being concerned about the Everglades doesn't equate to being a chicken little. It's being aware of the possibilities of what areas are at risk while at the same time hoping for the best. A LOT of sensitive habitat(s) are in real danger of being decimated and it could take more years for these areas to recoup than years that you and I have left to live.

7. Think what might have happened had Katrina hit...
after a blowout like this. The surface oil could have spread as much as 100 miles or more inland.

8. I try not to think about that.
Add that into the equation on top of the known horrendous human toll that Katrina took. Oh god I'm not sure I could wrap my brain around that scenario. Unimaginable horrors. Let's hope we don't see any major hurricanes in the gulf for at least a few years.., since there is the likelihood of smaller ones occurring in any given year, let none of them be big.... pleasepleaseplease.
