Aren't most BP stations in high-traffic areas?
BP has gas stations all over this country, and most gas stations are
located on busy, visible corners with constant traffic flow.

In our town of 50,000, there is a BP at the center of town--in one
of the busiest, well-traveled intersections in town.

Boy, that would really make a statement if a few of us dressed up
as oil slicks and stood out in front of our BP station (on the public
sidewalk of course).

How do you dress up as an oil slick, you ask? You cover yourself, from
head to toe--in black garbage bags. After you reach the protest spot,
you take a bottle of Hershey's syrup and squirt it all over the garbage
bags. Several people linked together could create a fairly impressive
"oil slick."

The "oil slick" could carry signs that say, "This oil slick brought to you
by BP, who paid our politicians for deregulation" or "Kill the planet? Who
cares, we made billions last quarter."

Oh, the options are endless.

So many BP stations, so many opportunities.

1. Nw that you mention it
the BP stations around here sure are on some of the busiest intersections.

And they want to claim the highest prices for their product too.

That's why I never buy gas in town or near the highway if I don't have to. I go to my little convience store up the road and out in the country.

2. location, location, location...
...it would be a shame if we didn't
capitalize on their awesome, highly visible gas
stations.

3. Yes, I agree, but anyone doing so and even standing on public right of way
would without a doubt in my mind, be arrested promptly by the local police on some trumped up cahrge.

7. I imagine people would stand on the sidewalk...
Our BP station is on a corner. I'm envisioning people standing
on the sidewalk corner, not in traffic or anything. That's why
BP's location is such an opportunity.

High traffic areas...corners...and plenty of sidewalks.

8. You like putting people out of work?
Most(if not all) Gas stations/convience stores are owned and operated by small business people who hire other people to help run it. They are probably only connected to BP by name only. Thank you for possibly getting me fired!

10. BP doesn't give a shit about putting people out of work.
Hundreds, maybe thousands of fishermen are out of work now, not to mention all the people who will lose their jobs in the Gulf tourist industry. How about these BP layoffs?

AMOCO TO BE BOUGHT BY BP 6,000 LAYOFFS EXPECTED IN $48 BILLION MERGER. (1998)

BP's Chicago workers face layoffs, moves (2007)

Layoffs at Genmab BP (2008)

More Layoffs Coming in the Oil Patch (CVX, SLB, XOM, COP, BP) (2009)

Workers seeking help after BP Solar layoffs 320 lose jobs as Frederick manufacturing operations close (2010)

You think you have job security working at a BP station? Think again!!

13. I know there is no job security.
I just don't want the job taken away by someone I might know who caused my place of business to shut down.

great idea!!!! let's protest!!!

Don't forget to have pics of dead birds, oily shores and black, contaminated water.

BTW, where the hell are all the tea bagging bozos? Why aren't they protesting? Or are they saddened because everyone is picking on one of their gods, "BP"...
