Why doesn't expedia or Travelocity, etc. offer real Amtrak discounts?

Why doesn't expedia or Travelocity, etc. offer real Amtrak discounts?
Every time I look at one of those sites and hit"rail" thinking I can find a cheaper fare, it just takes me to the Amtrak main site. Sure there's the usual little discounts avail,like AAA, and a kid's discount, but nothing major. Has anyone here ever gotten a good discount for a train trip? And if so, WHERE did you go, or what body part did you you have to sell to get it? Angst! Angst!

1. I have never heard of Amtrak discounts.
I don't think it is like airlines who change daily.

2. Taxpayers subsidize the airlines and we get airline discounts. Yes, why no Amtrak discount? nt
