Thank you Governor Dean!
He just referred to the Blumenthal story as a hatchet job on Morning Jerk. Left Mika and the Jerk speechless. Jerk starts laughing at Dean. They quickly went to commercial.

4. Why don't you ask the Times why they didn't acknowledge where the info came from?
Why do you think they didn't?

It's a good question.

8. The differention here is that the NYT gives the impression of the free press
playing their watchdog role in digging up the truth in order to be responsible to "the people." I think we can safely say that the McMahon campaign spoon fed this info to the Times. Then we have to say, why did she do this?

I have said elsewhere that I think Blumenthal was wrong in what he said. And I think he should have handled that press conference with more of an apology.

But let's look at the reality. If you think Linda McMahon is good news in any way, shape or form to us Democrats, well, I don't know what to tell you...

And we should be looking at what Blumenthal actually DID in terms of public service. This is a balancing act, to be sure. Time to step back and think...

9. I never ever said McMahon is good news - not sure why you want to pin that on me
I am just disappointed that Blumenthal appears to be nothing more than an expedient politician.

If I lived in Ct, I would probably vote for him. But not with any enthusiasm.

I am a vet - a Viet Nam era vet - and know he lied. He did not "mis-speak" or "misplace" his words (or whatever he claims). He knew exactly what he was claiming as he spoke those words.

And then to exhibit that defiance yesterday during the press conference. Beyond the pale to me.

Hopefully he has learned a lesson here and will decide that truth (or no comment) is better than a lie.

10. Well, we don't know how much it was "expediency" and how much it was
pangs of guilt over his avoidance of combat service during the Vietnam War. He has definitely proved by his actions that he is on the side of the vets. There's that old saying "Look what we do, not what we say."

I don't think you are embracing Linda McMahon. What I do think is that we have step back as Dems and look at the two candidates. One is less than perfect, the other is an unmitigated disaster...
