We all know that a gallon is the size of two half gallons of milk.

Go to this site, look at the "gallon counter". I believe that this counter is based on the estimate of 5,000 bbls or apx. 210,000 gallons per day.

Watch the counter for a few minutes.

While you are watching it, imagine the oil coming out of the pipe in the video.

It is very easy to picture that the 210,000 gallons per day is grossly understated. I can certainly believe that the true amount is probably 10X to 20X this.

14. 210,000 gallons would be a cube about 10 yards on a side
1 cubic yards = 201.974026 US gallons

So 210,000 gallons is about a thousand cubic yards, i.e. a cube about 10 yards or 36 feet on a side.
