2. I have some misgivings...
If she votes for decisions in favor of amnesty for illegal aliens, I think it could spark widespread militia actions approaching civil war.

14. You do realize she is nominated for the SC, not running for Senator, right?
Since when does the SC grant amnesty to illegal aliens?

23. After studying it a bit more, I'm OK with Mistah B's choice....
While she is definitely not the type of person I'd hang around with, Kagan probably would be our best hope for overturning Citizens United vs. FEC, giving corporations the ability to channel unlimited funds into campaigns. Unless that case is overturned, there is no hope for the future of the Republic.

10. That's quite a list.
Health care? I'm in favor of it.
Afghanistan? Nice place to visit, wouldn't want to live there.
Patriot Act? I'm opposed to it.
Executive power? As opposed to executive powerlessness?
Civil liberties? I'm in favor of them.
Yet you feel the same about all of those things. Tell us, are you for them or against them?

11. Is it really that hard?
never mind, rhetorical question. Apparently this administration doesn't know anyone who isn't in some way connected to a Wall Street bank.

13. Horrified.
Opposed her nomination to her current job, definitely do NOT want her on the Supreme Court. Would like her out as Solicitor General too.

She has a short track record, it's filled with quisling-centrism and she seems to lack deeply-held beliefs and has a big mouth she enjoys sticking her foot in.

I'll pass...more than that, I'll actively support any RW effort to defeat this nomination. It's a monumentally-poor nomination...she's as unqualified as Miers and Alito...I'm not going to support a bad nominee just because I support the president making the bad nomination. I opposed those nominations more for the lack of quality of the nominations than the ideological bent of the nominees. Her own work is demonstrative...worse, I fear she might be our Anthony Kennedy, someone to regret putting on the Supreme Court for the next 30 years. I don't care if she was Dean of Harvard Law, she's not that great of a legal mind and she's no friend to the core issues of the Democratic Party or the base that got Barack Obama elected.

Where are the great and profound liberal legal-scholars and thinkers of our era? They're certainly not on Barack Obama's short-list for nomination to SCOTUS. He needs to spend less time on the demographics of the court and more time on the quality of the nominees. Elena Kagen is a bad nominee and the fact that she's a female Jewish short-person is not going to change that. While I'm certain Obama nominated Sotomayor for the wrong reasons, at-least she belongs on SCOTUS.

26. Somewhere between neutral and good.
I have my reservations, and ideally I would've preferred someone else to be Obama's pick. But internet dickheads who insist on calling her "Fred Flinstone" and "Kevin James in pearls" have pissed me off and evoked a sort of "Girl, I got your back" sentiment in me.
