What's so interesting about the tea party folks is that they oppose the postmodern trends that occurred in America in the latter half of the 20th Century (civil rights... social justice... etc.) but they are doing so while asserting their identity as "Real Americans" (read: White Protestant and Conservative). In other words, they're combating postmodernism in a postmodern way.
