J.D. Hayworth demands apology from Phoenix Suns
Hayworth demands apology from Suns
by Bob McClay/News-Talk 92.3 KTAR (May 5th, 2010 @ 2:34pm)

PHOENIX - Arizona U.S. Senate candidate J.D. Hayworth is demanding an apology from the Phoenix Suns.

The Suns came out against S.B. 1070 and will wear their "Los Suns" jerseys Wednesday night against the Spurs.

"For (Suns General Manager) Steve Kerr to make comparisons with this law with Nazi Germany is beyond the pale," he said. "He should apologize, that has no basis in fact."

Hayworth said it appears Kerr has not actually read the bill.

"In the law are these words: Respecting the civil rights of all persons," he said. "Steve's a smart guy, but I bet he hasn't read the bill."

Hayworth added that Suns owner Robert Sarver is a hypocrite because he is expecting the federal government to do something he would not.

"Does he (Robert Sarver) want a bunch of people showing up tonight, basically walking into the arena without tickets, taking the best seats in the arena for tonight's game, demanding free food and drinks and then after the game demanding unfettered access to the players," he asked of the team's owner, "of course not."

Hayworth said it is a shame the Suns diverted attention away from what he said is a great playoff series.

23. Can you imagine?
A politician that wants to protect Americans from people that come here illegally, with a significant portion of those people involved in various levels of crime? People that come here illegally and sap the resources of those communities in which they settle? Many of the border states have significant budgetary issues to do illegal immigration.

I hate to say it, but this guy might be doing exactly what our politicians should be doing. Our politicians are supposed to work for America, not those that sneak in. I do not like being on the side of the Repugs on this, but I grew up in a border town and can still remember strange people running through the yard at all hours of the day and night. For those that cannot see the other side of this, you probably have not had the experience of not being able to be out in the neighborhood, or even the yard, by yourselves as a child because you never knew who was going to be passing through.

This is obviously an issue I have a hard time with being liberal-minded, yet seeing the reality of the situation.

As though undocumented workers get to demand the best of anything. As though the country is a business, run for profit. What the fuck is wrong with these people? Oh, wait--they're racist douchebags. Never mind.

On edit: Hayworth either just won the primary, or just lost it. If I was him, I'd hate to find myself running against both John McCain AND the Phoenix Suns, but that's where Hayworth just positioned himself.

only once. After you are signed up all of you ballots for future elections come in the mail. If you forget to vote early, you just drop off the signed ballot at your polling place.

Edited on Thu May-06-10 12:56 PM by NNN0LHI
Many of his clutch shots were the difference in winning an NBA Championship.

He usually made them.

Don

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Kerr

<snip>Kerr ended his career as a dependable bench player who could make jump shots and three-pointers in critical moments. Even when he was with the Chicago Bulls, and both he and Michael Jordan were on the floor at the same time, when a free throw had to be taken due to a technical foul, Kerr was usually the one to take the shot.
