1. Our principal took us out to dinner
The district administration (as usual) forgot about us.

2. The Support Staff Made A Lunch Buffet For Us
Lots of health, excellent food! And our administration and school board got us attachés with the school logo. I was pleasantly surprised.:)

7. Yes, rotten
They sent a case to every school and the case we got was full of rotten apples.

It really was as funny as it was sad.

11. Every week should be Teacher Appreciation Week.
Just sayin'.

Thanks for posting, I had no idea and my mother and my brother were both teachers.

14. Watched my mom do it for 23 years.
Taught senior high English. Had her as a teacher myself. I got to know a lot of teachers as people and not just what they did for a living. I would offer that teachers are this country's most underpaid, underrespected and underappreciated professionals, and have been for quite some time.

Always got a good chuckle at the whole "but they get the summer off" angle. Yeah, right. Obviously spoken by some clueless person that's never known one.

13. So far this has been great for us!
A local chiropractor's office had chair massages in the lounge for us today,

The bosses bought us a cake.

The student group gave us restaurant gift certificates.

Our education association gave us $5 cash.

One of the departments wrote individual award certificates for each of us -- very funny poking fun at our foibles.

I feel very lucky to be appreciated but I kind of wish it would be in my paycheck - 6% cuts looming for next year. But for now, I'll enjoy the little treats.

I received some nice notes and a gift card from parents.

Too bad I'm being laid off at the end of the month.

16. Thank you for the reminder
I still keep in contact with one of my high school teachers; I graduated HS in 2003. It's probably a bit late to give him an appreciation call now, but I will do so a bit earlier tomorrow evening.

I know that teachers usually love former student reunification stories. I better know, because he tracked me down when I was in college to say hi :)
