Draining of Disneyland waterway reveals items lost by guests - 100s of cell phones
how hard is it to hold on to a cell phone on boat? Seriously!

Draining of Disneyland waterway reveals items lost by guests: Cellphones, pacifiers and more
May 4, 2010 | 8:04 am

For months, the rafts that ferry Disneyland guests across the waterway to Tom Sawyer Island have been idle. No children have explored the islands caves, scaled its climbing rocks or run across its bridges.

But the island wont be lonely much longer. Park employees will refill the Rivers of America this week after it was drained in January for maintenance. The draining took almost a week, at the end of which this question was answered: What do you find at the bottom of an amusement park basin after seven years?

The answer: a computer tower, hundreds of cellphones, countless pacifiers and half a canoe, said Disneyland Resort spokesman John McClintock.

2. I wonder how many cell phones were thrown into the water by annoyed bystanders.

I wonder if they found Tyler too?

8. I'm guessing it has to do with Disney employees, either having fun
or just too lazy to drag to computer to the correct dumpster. I worked there back in high school, and having a whole bunch of young, underpaid, often-temporary peons in that environment led to all kinds of bizarre-ity...

7. I'd love to know what was on the hard-drive
on that computer. You really want it to dissapear if you sneak it into Disneyland and somehow dump it into that waterway.

Maybe next time the cops are looking for him, he'll figure out how to drill a hard-drive and save the aggravation of sneaking it in.
