8. Im wondering if it wouldnt have been better to let it remain burning
The rush of oil would have remained burning instead of spreading out.

11. I think they sadly though the BOP had triggered.
Thus the oil flow was cut off. Turns out the BOP didn't close valves and the water in firefighting ended up sink the rig.

Lack of complete information made the situation worse. This is evident by Coast Guard & BP statement on first day that no oil was leaking.

That makes me think of another missing backup. The BOP sending a fault signal via acoustics to boats on the surface warning them the oil flow hadn't been cutoff. There are so many potential safeguards that are simply not in place. The govt needs to mandate more backups. Companies aren't going to go out of there way to make things safer.

14. When I was in the navy I saw the M/V Surf City oil tanker burn for two weeks.
That seems like a camp fire compared to this.

15. There was no Natural Gas being pumped so I wonder what caused the explosion?
Crude Oil isn't all that easy to make explode. It burns okay but I would think there would need something a bit more explosive involved..Something just is not right about this whole deal..

19. This was like popping a giant zit of oil. They were warned that the pressure
at that depth would be extremely dangerous.
