People Need to Be Held Accountable for the Damage done to the Gulf of Mexico
Edited on Sat May-01-10 06:32 PM by fascisthunter
The lives turned upside down, the ecological damage, the tourism and local economies all screwed for a greedy oil company. Seriously, think about that?

No more slaps on the wrist, or fines...

1. Oh com'on
what makes sense is NATIONALIZING at the very least BP... period.

But you know better. Our model is based on socializing risks, and privatizing profits.

We also kneed to get more than just serious in green energy.

4. No, it woudl be us, nationalizing their US Based Operations
Like has been done in many places.

that's when you tell them, as of umpty squat hour all your goods, and services in the US are now the property of the people of the US.

Reality is that it would not happen. You know how fast the Court of St James would break relations with us?

9. You and I do not establish policy
I would love to buy things without the stuff and not have to drive a gas driven vehicle, alas I don't make policy.

10. Reparations? For Mexico, Central America, Venezuela, Cuba, Haiti, etc.?

How many nations will this U.S.-sponsored disaster affect?

It's going to be pleasant watching "good Obama" tell 40 nations to "fuck off".

The U.S. will be despised again. Just a matter of time.

13. Do those places not use petroleum? Did they forget about Ixtoc I?
The largest accidental spill of oil in the history of the world happened at a government-owned rig in the Gulf of Mexico. It leaked 30,000 barrels per day for 10 months.
