Would someone please ask all those Gulf coast governors
Edited on Thu Apr-29-10 07:10 AM by malaise
whether they think 'big government' via the Coast Guard should be involved with this Spill baby Spill. Start with Bobby Jindal.
I found it hilarious when Rear Adm. Mary Landry corrected herself very quickly and moved from 'we' to 'BP'.
Another bail out - this time for big oil and a foreign corporation to boot.

1. Sure, the Coast Guard should protect our shores
and clean up the oil spill. Then the US should bill them at "Halliburton" rates to recoup our investment. We save our own coastline and BP pays for it, as they should.

2. We know that the Coast Guard should protect the coastline
but ReTHUGSouthern governors disagree.

4. BP is paying for the cleanup. Yes, they're even paying for the Coast Guard's help.

The real issue here is we need to get this contained/cleaned up ASAP. By whatever means possible. The financial burden of the clean up falls on BP, though. No matter who is being "hired" to assist with the work.

The only "bailout" here is what little diversion of impact from this disaster the environment might see by our intervention. Period.
