We (Leader Reid) brings it up for debate, 41 Pukes vote it down, then what happens?

Does the media go into a frenzy about how pukes oppose reform?

Do we keep bringing it up until one of them votes with us?

Do we go home and cry?

Or will Reid cave right now, early on, and never bring it up?

1. When push comes to shove - this debate WILL open.

Cloture will be an issue because Republicans will find some way to declare "Treachery!" on the part of the Democrats. Consider that a slam-dunk case against Goldman Sachs is on the horizon (even pre-trial procedures that GS loses will foreshadow the trial outcome), no one will want to be cheering in their corner.

In short, reform is not a matter of if, but of when.

2. I think either the GOpers cancel the fili claiming they got Dems to agree to signficant changes...

or a couple of Rs will be "allowed" to vote with the Dems. They arent going to filibuster this issue.. political suicide.
